Poem: Intrusive, Intrude, Intrusion

Intrusive

You break in like waves of regrets

Shaped like hyacinth, toxins on my shore

Seasons pass and weather, all that I adored

You are, and I am

Free estate of gaslit promises

Dissipate, I let go

Intuition sold, devotion

Leave now on the fastest train

In vain I fear, barren apology

My neighbor teased, it’s kind of me

To think you had any in store

Intrusive, intrude, intrusion

Fool’s golds are fun while daydream lasts

Controlled no more, control I will

Compass, I’m still

Who I’m meant to be
